How to Install

  1. Make sure that you are running the latest versions of Xcode and macOS.

  2. If you haven’t already, sign up for the Offline Converter Plan.

  3. Download and install the Offline Converter.

  4. If the app is blocked from running, go to the Apple menu ➟ System Settings… ➟ Privacy & Security ➟ Security section. Under the section labeled "Allow applications downloaded from:" select "App Store and identified developers".

  5. Run “Swiftify Offline Converter” from your Applications folder.

  6. You will be asked to verify your API key online.

  7. Note that a subscription to the Offline Converter plan is required to use the Offline Converter.

How to Use the Offline Converter

  1. Run “Swiftify Offline Converter” from your Applications folder.

  2. Click on “Open Project Folder”.

  3. Navigate to the location of the .xcodeproj or .xcworkspace file of the project you wish to convert, and choose “Open” at the bottom right of the window.

  4. Select the checkbox next to any files you wish to convert to Swift. You will experience better results if you do not try to convert all of your files at once. Refer to this article for best practices when converting your project.

  5. Click the Convert button. All conversions are done offline in the Offline Converter app.

  6. Your files are converted and added to the project.

  7. Open the project in Xcode to view the changes.

How to Use Xcode & Finder Extensions

  1. Run (or restart) Xcode and check the Editor ➟ Swiftify menu.

  2. If there’s nothing in the Editor menu, open System Preferences ➟ Extensions and put a checkmark next to “Swiftify for Xcode”.

  3. The new Finder extension allows you to convert files, folders and even ZIP archives with your projects using the right-click menu.

  4. You can also use the right-click menu to convert code from most macOS text editor apps.

  5. You can set a shortcut (Key Binding) for any command via Xcode ➟ Preferences ➟ Key Bindings.
